Marijuana Legality Debate

Should marijuana be legalized in Pennsylvania?

I don't think marijuana should be legalized, even for medical purposes. The only reason I would be okay with it being legal was if there was limited access to it for children with sever seizure disorders.

According to the Daily Pennsylvanian, a student who lived in California and had a card for medical marijuana was prescribed medical marijuana at 18 for a shoulder injury but mostly uses it for recreational purposes. That's the problem with this whole thing. Once it's out there, people could say they need it for medical purposes when in reality they are using it for recreational purposes.

Facts About Marijuana:

  • Repeated marijuana use can lead to addiction
  • Marijuana is the most common illegal drug involved in car accidents
  • Marijuana’s negative effects on attention, memory, and learning can last for days and sometimes weeks (you do poorly in school)

As it says in the video, legalization has made an increase in people needing help or rehab for addiction in The Netherlands. The government doesn't like their policy because it's attracting all the wrong kinds of tourists and it's getting a ton of people addicted.

Don't legalize marijuana. It'll only lead to more trouble.
